Established in 1958, Micro Craft is one of the nation’s oldest and most respected designers of wind tunnel models, flight demonstrators, and associated test equipment. From force, moment, and pressure models to the Mach 10 X-43A flight vehicles, Micro Craft has a very wide range of experience and capabilities.
Micro Craft’s engineering staff utilizes the latest software to meet the diverse needs of our clients. We perform 3D solid modeling and analysis in DS Catia, Siemens Solid Edge, and AFGROW. Our CNC machines are programmed using Catia, Mastercam, and Mazatrol. Full G-Code program verification is performed using IMS Verify.
Micro Craft's Electronics Lab is a specialty prototyping and low production facility built primarily for aerospace contract work. Operating in compliance with AS9100, great detail is given to all aspects of each project to ensure production of the quality systems that our customers require. Calibrated precision instruments, equipment and components are utilized throughout the layout, production, assembly, inspection, verification, installation, and validation of systems.
Micro Craft recognizes the economy of remotely controlled systems in wind tunnel models and have helped our customers implement state-of-the-art systems in such programs as the Navy Standard Missile, Air Force Research Labs 3D Flow Control Turret, and Next Generation Radar Jammer Pod.
In addition to program management for model and test systems, Micro Craft performs large scale systems engineering and facility program management. Past projects include the X-43A flight vehicles and the AEDC STAT facility. Current projects include capabilities augmentation for the APTU facility at AEDC.
